The honor comes following a standout 2025 campaign in which Malbroue established himself as one of Lane's top defensive contributors. The defensive back led the Dragons with 54 tackles, while also recording one interception and four pass breakups. Malbroue's impact throughout the season earned him the Defensive MVP Award from the Lane College coaching staff, further recognizing his consistency, leadership and contributions to the Dragons' defense.
"Jeremiah has continued to show what it means to be a leader on this team," said Lane College Head Football Coach
Stanley Conner. "His work ethic, physicality and understanding of the game have made him an important part of our defensive unit. Earning Preseason All-SIAC honors is a great recognition of the work he has put in, but we know there is still more ahead of him. We're excited to see what he can accomplish this season."
As Lane prepares for the 2026 football season, Malbroue will be counted on as a veteran presence in the secondary and a leader for a Dragons defense looking to take another step forward. His preseason recognition also adds momentum heading into Coach Conner's second season at the helm. With Malbroue returning to anchor the defensive unit, Lane will look to build on its defensive foundation while competing against a challenging SIAC schedule. For Malbroue, the preseason honor represents both recognition for his previous accomplishments and an opportunity to continue raising the standard.
The Dragons will open the 2026 season on Saturday, August 29, traveling to McKenzie, Tennessee, to face Bethel University (Tenn.) at 7 p.m.
