Dragons Fall to Albany State in SIAC Road Contest

Jackson, Tenn. — Oct. 12, 2026 — Lane College was unable to overcome Albany State University’s fast start Saturday afternoon as the Dragons fell 51–0 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at the Albany State University Coliseum.

Albany State scored 20 points in the opening quarter and added 17 during the second period to take a 37–0 advantage into halftime. The Golden Rams scored twice more in the third quarter before Lane held them scoreless during the final period.

The Dragons showed offensive promise late in the first quarter when they began an 11-play drive from their own 21-yard line. Quarterback Crishon Overton completed passes to Rkisch Hyppolyte and Samuel Kelly, while running back John Christian III converted a third-and-short opportunity to keep the possession alive.

Overton later connected with Hyppolyte for a 21-yard gain before Christian broke a 19-yard run to the Albany State 17. The drive ended when the Golden Rams recovered a fumble and returned it 64 yards for a touchdown. Lane moved into Albany State territory again on its next possession when Overton completed a 22-yard pass to Landon Wilson. The drive reached the Golden Rams' 46-yard line before Albany State forced a punt.

Christian led Lane's rushing attack with 28 yards on nine carries, including gains of 11 and 19 yards. He also caught four passes for 22 yards, finishing with a team-high 50 yards from scrimmage.
Overton completed 13 of 31 passes for 108 yards. Hyppolyte led Lane's receiving unit with 38 yards on three receptions, while Wilson finished with two catches for 33 yards. Joshua Johnson added a 10-yard reception during the third quarter.

Defensively, Kyan Parker-Crawford led the Dragons with eight tackles, including six solo stops.
