Dragons Fall to the Golden Bears
            The Lane College Dragons traveled to Fairfield, AL for a conference match-up with the Golden Bears of Miles College on October 22. The Golden Bears defeated the Dragons 37-3 to the delight of 13,613 fans that made the trip for the 2011 Miles College Homecoming.
            The Golden Bears did not make the fans wait long to have something to cheer about as they drove the ball 83 yards on 13 plays for a touchdown and the early 7-0 lead. David Thomas connected with his wide receiver, Antonio Pitts, for a 25-yard strike to the right corner of the end zone for the score.
            The Dragons would score their only points of the game in the second quarter on a 38-yard field goal from Ryan Bullock. Corey Jones, a native of Compton, CA, led the Dragons defense collecting 14 total tackles. Teammate and fellow Compton, CA, native Paris Hopper collected 10 tackles for the Dragons.
            The Dragons return to the friendly confines of Lane Field on October 29 for the final home game of the season. The Dragons will host the Kentucky State University Thorobreds for another conference battle. Kick-off is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
