Dixon to speak at HBCU basketball coaches clinic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Lane College Head Women's Basketball Coach Surina Dixon will be among the featured speakers at the HBCU Awareness Foundation Basketball Coaches & High School Coaches Connect/Clinic Series 2, taking place on Saturday, September 20, at Southwind High School in Memphis, Tennessee.

This year's clinic, hosted by the HBCU Awareness Foundation, is designed to foster relationships and provide professional development for high school coaches through presentations, networking, and collaboration with HBCU coaching leaders.

Coach Dixon is scheduled to speak at 9:35 a.m., where she will share insights from her extensive coaching career and discuss the importance of leadership, player development, and building winning cultures on and off the court.

"I am honored to be a part of an event that not only uplifts HBCUs but also equips high school coaches with the tools to positively impact their student-athletes," Dixon said. "This clinic is a powerful way to strengthen the pipeline between high schools and HBCUs while continuing to grow the game we all love."

The clinic will feature speakers from across the HBCU coaching landscape, including representatives from Alabama A&M, Arkansas–Pine Bluff, Mississippi Valley State, Talladega College, Clinton College, Tougaloo College, Alabama State, and Morris College.

The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is open to all high school coaches, who must register at www.hbcuawarenessfoundation.org.
