ATLANTA, Ga. - The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced their preseason superlatives on Monday and Kyra Gaston, a standout Senior from Detroit, Mich., was named First Team All-SIAC.
During the 2024 season Gaston registered 234 kills, averaging 2.54 kills per set with a remarkable attack percentage of .297. Her offensive prowess was a consistent threat to opposing teams, as she demonstrated her ability to score from various areas of the court and put up impressive numbers when it mattered most.
In addition to her attacking skills, Gaston was a force at the net defensively, totaling 81 blocks on the season. Her blocking presence was integral in controlling the tempo of matches, as she provided a strong defensive foundation for her team. Gaston also excelled in serving, tallying 15 service aces, showcasing her ability to create opportunities for her team with her powerful and strategic serves.
The league also announced the predicted order of finish as voted on by the SIAC Sports Information Directors. Lane was selected to finish third in the SIAC West Division.
