ATLANTA, Ga. - The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced their All-SIAC preseason football team featuring 26 returning players from the 2022 SIAC Football All-Conference team. Lane had three players named First Team and one player placed on Second Team.
All nominations and votes are submitted by head coaches and sports information directors.
Jacquez Jones burst onto the scene this season after Lane lost both of its top wide receivers early. Jones emerged as both a deep threat and a possession receiver as he lead the conference in receiving yards (917) and touchdowns (11). He was selected to the First Team Offense.
Walter Tatum was placed on the First Team Defense after a season that saw the sophomore defensive back make 41 tackles and register seven pass break ups. Hailing from Notasulga, Ala., Tatum finished the season with three interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns helping Lane lead the conference in defensive scores and finish ranked second nationally in that category.
Kicker Noah Shalz was named First Team after connecting on all but one field goal attempt last season while tight end Henry Calixte earned Second Team honors after hauling in seven catches for 90 yards.
