Defense not enough as Dragons fall on the road

Box Score ATLANTA (September 9, 2017) – The Lane College defense held tough for three quarters but in the end it was not enough as the Morehouse Maroon Tigers took over in the final 15 minutes to knock off the Dragons 24-10 in Atlanta on Saturday evening.
On the defensive side of the ball, nose tackle Cameron Brown continued to shine, racking up eight tackles against Morehouse, three for loss for a total of 19 yards.
Gabriel Scott and Antonio Thomas both finished the game against the Tigers with nine total tackles apiece.
After falling behind 10-0, Lane College got on the board in the second quarter thanks to a 44-yard field goal from Vicente Luis-Juan Pena with 1:17 left in the first half. The Tigers led 10-3 at intermission. The Dragons reached pay dirt in the fourth quarter when Marcus Reynolds connected with Quantavious Wilson from five yards out to cap off a seven-play, 65 yard drive to cut the lead to 24-10.
The Dragons will be back in action this Saturday as they wrap-up a three-game road trip when they travel to SIAC foe Benedict College in South Carolina. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
