JACKSON, Tenn. (October 26, 2017) - The Lady Dragons volleyball team overcame a two-set-to-one deficit to knock off visiting Crowley's Ridge in five sets Thursday night during the team's "Spike Out Breast Cancer" event in support of national breast cancer awareness month.

After dropping the first and third sets, the Lady Dragons dominated the fourth set 25-15 and took the tie breaking set 15-9.

Aza Rae Underwood led all scorers with 12 kills and 36 total attacks followed by Jada Mitchell, who finished with ten kills and 36 total attacks. Shannel DeVoe rounded out the scoring with nine kills and 29 total attacks. Underwood led all with 23 digs. Defoe finished the match with 17 digs.

Mariana Spencer led the team with a game-high 50 assists in the win. 

Lane College has two games left in the regular season, starting Saturday, Oct. 28 when they travel to Huntsville, Ala. to take on Oakwood University. This will be the second time the teams have squared off, with the Lady Dragons winning in straight sets on Oct. 10 in Jackson.

Lane College rounds out the season on Nov. 4 when they travel to Memphis to take on SIAC rival Lemoyne-Owen College. Match is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
