Box Score Lady Dragons Grabs Conference Victory over the Lady Rams

The Lady Dragons traveled to Albany Georgia for a SIAC conference match-up with the Lady Rams from Albany State University. Coming off a conference victory at the end of 2016 the Lady Dragons needed to pick up where they had left off to start the 2017 portion of the season.

1st Half: The Lady Dragons outscored the Lady Rams in both the first and second quarters of the half. The Lady Dragons jumped out to a 16-12 lead in the first quarter as
Addie McNeely drained a 3-pointer with 2:50 on the clock for a 14-11 lead. McNeely added a jumper with only seconds left in the quarter to move the lead to 16-12 and end the first quarter. The Lady Dragons continued to expand the lead in the second quarter outscoring the Lady Rams 17-15 for a 33-27 halftime score.
2nd Half: Coming back to action in the 3
rd quarter the Lady Dragons built on to their lead as they outscored the Lady Rams 19-10 (52-37). The Lady Rams mounted a comeback effort outscoring the Lady Dragons 17-10 in the final quarter. The comeback effort fell short as time ran out in the final quarter for a Lady Dragons victory.
By the numbers:
The Lady Rams out rebounded the Lady Dragons 43-39 which helped them connect on fourteen second chance points. They also added twenty points inside the paint as they shot 33.3% (21-63) overall. Leading the Lady Rams was Zuri Frost and Kayla Green both collecting eleven points each. The Lady Dragons combined to shoot 42.6% (23-54) from the field and connected on 12 of 18 (66.7%) free throw attempts. The Lady Dragons added twenty-eight points inside the paint. The Lady Dragons continue with conference play as the travel to Fort Valley Georgia for a contest with the Lady Wildcats on January 7. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
