After a tough start to the season in non-conference basketball action on the road, the Lady Dragons opened SIAC conference play at home. On Thursday, the Lady Dragons (0-7) hosted the Lady Panthers (4-3) from Claflin University. The Lady Dragons opened the first period of action with a 21-17 lead over the Lady Panthers. In the second period, both teams stayed even with 13 points each giving the Lady Dragons a 34-30 halftime advantage

The 3^rd period was not what the Lady Dragons had hoped for as the Lady Panthers outscored them 23-11 to take the 53-45 lead. In the final period, the Lady Dragons tried to mount a comeback, but could not regain the lead for a final score of 71-63, giving the Lady Panthers the victory. 

The Lady Panthers were led by Shaniece Brown with 22 points while Jhontay Giles added 13 points and 15 rebounds. The Lady Dragons shot 44.8% from the field in the first half, connecting on 13 of 29 shots. LeTrice Ragland led the Lady Dragons in scoring with 21 points, while Tashara Jones added 14 points and collected 8 rebounds.

The Lady Dragons host the Lady Tigers from Benedict College on Dec. 5, with a 1:00 PM tip-off at J. F. Lane Gymnasium.
