Box Score Bombs Away! Lady Dragons Defeat the Lady Magicians
Memphis, Tenn. –The Lane College Lady Dragons used the three-point shot to pick up a conference win with a 77-61 victory over the LeMoyne- Owen Lady Magicians Saturday afternoon in Memphis, TN.
Marissa Stewart had the hot hand for the Lady Dragons, connecting on 7-of-9 from behind the 3-point line to lead the Lady Dragons scoring with 23 points.
Katora Fleming added another 22 points for the Lady Dragons, while
Ciara Ingram led the Lady Dragons in rebounding… hauling in 8 boards in the contest. The Lady Magicians were led in scoring by Teneshia Jones with 22 points.
The Lady Dragons came out firing at the opening tipoff as
Marissa Stewart connected with a trey with 13:14 on the clock to give the Lady Dragons the 18-7 lead. For the remainder of the first half, the Lady Dragons outscored the Lady Magicians 19-18 to carry a 37-25 lead into the halftime break. The second half was more of the same for the Lady Dragons as Stewart continued to connect with 3-point bombs. With 17:10 showing on the clock, the Lady Dragons had a 14-point advantage 45-31. Stewart connected on her last bucket of the evening with 3 minutes left to give the Lady Dragons the largest lead of the night at 69-53.
The Lady Dragons are back in action on Monday, January 28, as they host the Lady Golden Bears from Miles College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Oman Arena.
