Macon, GA
The Dragons traveled to Macon, Georgia to take on the Golden Rams of Albany State University in the Music City Classic. The Golden Rams scored 29 points in the first half to defeat the Dragons 36-14.

The Dragons defensive unit was tested early as the Golden Rams won the coin toss and elected to take the first possession of the game. After a booming 51-yard kickoff from the Dragons' David Castillo, the defensive unit took the field at the Golden Rams 28-yard line. Six offensive plays for a total of 15 yards were all that the Dragons defense would allow on this series.

Using a balanced offensive attack (2 running and 2 passing plays), the Dragons were on the move looking to put the first points of the game on the board. On the next play an over-thrown pass fell in the hands of a Golden Rams defender, ending the drive for the Dragons. The Golden Rams took advantage of the turnover and 46 yards on 6 plays for the score. Nathan Hoyte finished off the drive with the first of his two touchdowns on a 15-yard scramble into the end zone and a 7-0 lead.

The Dragons would make short work of their next possession, marching 76 yards, on 7 plays for a game tying touchdown. Quarterback Chris Rini relied on the hands and feet of Evan Yabu, and Bradley Landrum to move down the field quickly. Yabu collected 26 yards with a combination of rushing and receiving, while Landrum hauled in a 34-yard pass from Rini to set up the touchdown. Rini would finish off the scoring drive with a 9-yard run to the left corner of the end zone. Castillo would add the extra-point for the Dragons tying the score 7-7.

The Golden Rams would reel off 29 additional points before the Dragons scored again in the fourth quarter. The Dragons completed a 10-play, 69-yard drive for their second touchdown of the game as the fourth quarter started. McKensley Marbury connected with Yabu on a 14-yard pass play for the touchdown and a 36-14 final score.

The offensive unit would collect 322 yards in the game, led by Marbury with a total of 128 (64-rushing, 64-Passing). Yabu would haul in 5 passes for 47 yards to lead the receivers. Malcolm Morris would contribute 109 yards on the special teams unit coming from 4 kickoff returns. The defensive unit was led by Corey Jones as he collected 13 total tackles to continue leading the SIAC with 74 tackles on the season.
The Dragons (2-4, 1-3 conference) will travel to Valley, AL for their next contest on October 13 as they face the Skyhawks from Point University.
