Lane College Announces Leadership Transition in Men’s Basketball

JACKSON, Tenn. — Lane College Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jeremy C. Patterson has announced that Lane College head men's basketball coach Harold Rayford has resigned and will not return to lead the program next season.

Rayford concluded his tenure at Lane with a 16-38 overall record and an 16-28 mark in SIAC play over two seasons.

Following a comprehensive evaluation of our men's basketball program, we believe this is the right time for a leadership change," said Patterson. "We remain committed to building a program that competes at the highest level of our conference and reflects the pride and passion of the Lane College Dragons. We have made meaningful investments in men's basketball and are grateful for the strong support from our fans and donors. I want to thank Coach Rayford for his dedication to our student-athletes and for his service to the Lane College, and we wish him and his family the very best in the future."

Spencer Wright will assume oversight of the men's basketball program during the transition.

Lane College will begin a national search for the next Head Men's Basketball Coach immediately.
