JACKSON, Tenn. — Elijah Greer Dawson scored a game-high 21 points and Chase Murray added 19 to lead Lane College to an 81–74 SIAC victory over Kentucky State Wednesday night at J.F. Lane Gymnasium.

The Dragons (8–12, 8–10 SIAC) used a balanced offensive effort and a strong second half to pull away from the Thorobreds, shooting 47.1 percent from the field after halftime and outscoring Kentucky State 45–43 in the second half.

Greer Dawson filled the stat sheet with 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal, while Murray knocked down five three-pointers and finished with seven rebounds. Jarrell Love contributed 12 points and a team-high 12 rebounds for a double-double, and Elijah Lewis added 12 points off the bench to give Lane a boost in scoring depth.

The Dragons led 36–31 at halftime before extending their lead with a 16–8 run early in the second half. Lane finished with 36 points in the paint and 19 points off turnovers, capitalizing on Kentucky State's mistakes to maintain control down the stretch.

Kentucky State was led by Aziel Blackwell's 23 points and Sean Paige's 20-point effort, but Lane's depth proved to be the difference, with the Dragons outscoring the Thorobreds 25–6 in bench points.

Lane shot 41.7 percent from the field and 30.8 percent from three-point range, while also converting 59.1 percent from the free-throw line. The Dragons also recorded 11 steals and six blocks in the win.
