JACKSON, Tenn. - The Black Coaches Association has recognized standout leaders from both the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association for the 2025–2026 season, honoring their impact and excellence on and off the court.
Among those recognized is Surina Dixon, who was named one of the top Division II coaches in the SIAC. The honor reflects not only competitive success but also leadership, program development, and commitment to student-athlete growth.
Founded to promote the hiring, development, and advancement of Black coaches at all levels of sport, the Black Coaches Association advocates for equity and diversity in athletics leadership. Through professional development programming, networking opportunities, and policy advocacy, the organization works to remove barriers in coaching and athletics administration nationwide.
Under Coach Dixon's leadership, the 2025–2026 women's basketball team has rewritten the program record book. The team secured 19 wins — the most in program history — while also setting a new benchmark for conference victories in SIAC play. Their consistency throughout the season earned them a second-place finish in the SIAC West Division standings.
The team will close the regular season at home against Allen University on Thursday, February 26, 2026, before turning its focus to postseason play at the SIAC Tournament in Morrow, Georgia, scheduled for March 3–7, 2026.
