Nashville, Tenn. – The Lane College men's and women's cross country teams competed at Percy Warner Park on Saturday in the Michael Pretorius Memorial hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University. Facing a competitive field that included Division I programs, the Dragons showed resilience and steady pack running, highlighted by several individual breakthroughs.

Men's 8K Recap

The Lane men placed 6th overall (2:38:15 total time, 31:39 average) in the 8K race.

• Kelvin Kiprop paced the Dragons with a 20th-place finish in 28:34.1.

• Collins Maiyo followed closely in 25th place (29:14.1), providing a strong #2 finish for the team.

• Brian Kimaiyo ran 31:02.1 for 30th place, while Benedick Kipchirchir (32:04.1, 34th) and Ezekiel Miller (37:21.4, 38th) rounded out the scoring five.

• Levi Newman (38:45.6) and Kevin Hicks (41:12.6) also contributed to the team effort.

The men showed good pack running, with their top four separated by just over 3:30, an encouraging sign as they aim to tighten their spread in upcoming meets.

Women's 5K Recap

The Dragons placed 5th as a team (1:52:01 total, 22:24 average) in the women's 5K, led by a standout front-runner performance.

• Cynthia Koech turned in a top-10 finish (8th overall) with a time of 19:26.2.

• Angela Bitok followed as Lane's second runner in 21:59.8 (27th place).

• Freshman Joy Jepkorir added a solid debut with a 30th-place finish in 22:52.7, while Linnet Barrock (23:39.0, 31st) and Cynthia Kipkorir (24:04.1, 32nd) completed the scoring.

With all five scorers placing in the top 32, the Lady Dragons displayed depth and consistency, highlighted by Koech's top-10 finish against a field anchored by powerhouse Lipscomb.
