Johnson named SIAC Newcomer of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) released their players of the week on Tuesday and NyJal Johnson was named  Football Newcomer Player of the Week.

Johnson had his best day of the season. In a 41-28 win over Lincoln University, the junior college transfer finished 7-for-9 for 196 yards and three touchdowns. With Lane down by one point late in the first half, Johnson threw a 68-yard touchdown passes to Ayden Ware to give the Dragons the lead.

He threw two touchdown passes in the second half to receiver Anthony Evelyn to put the game on ice. The first was a 60-yard pass on the first possession of the half, the second was a 21-yard score to put the game away after Lincoln had pulled to within one score.
