ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its softball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.

Shawna McNair (Lane) was named Player of the Week, while Jersey Cabana (Lane) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Shawna McNair, Lane

Shortstop |   Freshman  |  Jensen Beach, FL

McNair was 6-for-9 in three Lane wins on the week. She carried a .700 on-base percentage and scored four runs while stealing two bases. She also carried a 1.000 fielding percentage while playing shortstop for the Dragons. McNair is currently fifth in the league in batting average (.452) and runs per game (1.04).                            

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Jersey Cabana, Lane

Cabana threw two complete game shutouts for Lane this week. The freshman from California went 7.0 innings and allowed just four hits in a win over Crowley's Ridge. She then followed that performance with a no-hitter in an 8-0 win over Oakwood. Cabana struck out 11 batters in 5.0 innings of work.
