Dragons sweep LOC as Phillips sets record

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - The Lane College softball team secured a series sweep over LeMoyne-Owen College this weekend as Autumn Phillips becomes the all-time career wins leader in program history.
 

Game 1 
Lane 4, LeMoyne-Owen 1

Lane struck early and held steady with strong pitching from Phillips, who tossed a complete game, allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out four. Koralie Morin launched a two-run homer in the third to break the deadlock, and Sierra Luster added an RBI double in the fourth. Lane played clean defense with no errors, and despite a late RBI double by LeMoyne-Owen, the Dragons secured the opener.

Game 2
Lane 11, LeMoyne-Owen 2 (5 Innings)

Lane's bats exploded in the second and fifth innings, run-ruling LeMoyne-Owen in just five frames. The Dragons poured on seven runs in the fifth, powered by RBI doubles from Halle Koger and Ja'Kai Ray, and a complete team effort at the plate with 13 hits. Morin shined in the circle and at the plate, throwing five innings of two-hit ball and going 2-for-4 with a double.

The Dragons closed out the series with another complete performance. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first, Lane padded their cushion in the later innings with key hits from Luster and Kyra Vieux. Phillips returned to the circle and delivered her second complete game of the series, scattering seven hits and allowing just one earned run.
