JACKSON, Tenn. | The Lane College football team will travel to Georgia this Saturday for a matchup with the Fort Valley State Wildcats. The game will be aired on the ESPN family of networks as part of a multi-year deal between the sports media giant and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
"We are looking forward to the opportunity to showcase our team to a larger audience this Saturday," stated head coach Vyron Brown. "The guys were already excited for a new opponent, this just adds a little more to it."
The last matchup between the two teams took place during the 2017 season. Only two players remain from that team for Lane. The Wildcats won on that day, 37-14.
A fresh matchup and a large audience has the 2021 edition of the Dragons eager to make their mark on this season, and this conference.Â
Lane is coming off a big road win against Clark Atlanta in Week 2. Fort Valley State dropped a contest to Florida A&M last week after shutting out Tuskegee 30-0 in Week 1.
The game is scheduled to kickoff at 2:00 PM Eastern and is available on ESPN+.
