Lane announces 2021 football schedule

JACKSON, Tenn. | Lane College released their 2021 football schedule today and first year head coach Vyron Brown and his squad will open the season with an away game against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The two teams met on October 5^th, 2019 with the Golden Lions breaking a tie late in the fourth quarter with a long touchdown to take the contest 45-38.

Lane will then travel to Atlanta for a conference matchup with the Panthers of Clark Atlanta. It will be the first meeting of the two teams since 2017.

The next two weeks will see Lane compete in non-conference away games with Fort Valley State and Edward Waters. The Dragons defeated EWU in 2019 by a score of 44-14.

Homecoming will take place on October 2^nd and will pit the Dragons against Texas College. Lane blanked the Steers in their 2019 matchup, 29-0. Kickoff is set for 2:00 pm.

The final five games will all be conference matchups, beginning with a road game against the Thorobreds of Kentucky State. Lane returns home to host the two-time defending SIAC West champion Miles College for Senior Day, followed by back-to-back road games with Tuskegee and Central State.

The Dragons will finish the regular season on November 6^th when they play Benedict College. The two teams met during the 2019 season with Lane winning the contest, 30-23.

The SIAC Championship Game, pitting the winners of the Eastern and Western Divisions, will take place on November 13^th.
