Football adds Lemon to staff

JACKSON, Tenn. | Lane College has announced the addition of Theophulis Lemon to the football coaching staff. Lemon will oversee the defensive line for the Dragons.

Lemon is a graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and a Master of Science Degree in Guidance and Counseling. He was a Defensive Back for the Ohio Bobcats during his undergraduate days and transitioned to serving as a Graduate Assistant.

He has had an extensive career that spans the high school and collegiate ranks. On the high school level, he taught Physical Education and Health in Dayton, Ohio. His college stints include Defensive Coordinator with dual line responsibilities at Kentucky State University, Northeastern University, East Carolina University, Wake Forest University, Central State University, Rutgers University and Florida A&M University. He was also Assistant Head Coach at Wake Forest University. Lemon served as Head Football Coach at Kentucky State University, College of DuPage, Central State University, and Savannah State University.
 
He utilizes his academic training to teach the mechanics and methodology of the game, and to provide academic advising, wisdom, and insight to players. Coach Lemon has managed game operations, events planning, program objectives, budgets, player relations, and professional training activities. He is versed in conference rules and compliance standards.
 
His distinguished coaching and instructional duties have transcended many colleges and public schools. He is known as a motivational coach who instills unique winning strategies and analyzing techniques to measure player effectiveness.
 
Coach Lemon is dedicated to his tasks at Lane College. He acknowledges the college's traditions of athletic character and educational attainments and looks to build on that foundation during his time with the Dragons.
