Lane College starting pitcher freshman
Patrick Wright went 4.2 innings. He gave up two earned runs off four hits and struck out two.
The Dragons have six games remaining this season as they travel to Alabama this weekend to take on Tuskegee University starting with a doubleheader on Saturday finishing the road trip with a single game on Sunday. They wrap up the season next weekend as they host Claflin University for a three-game homestand.
Lane College head coach John Bates said he knows it is important to finish the season strong and believes a win over a big program like Freed-Hardeman gives his very young team confidence going into the final games of the season.
"It was a huge win for us," Bates said. "We are starting a foundation going into next year, especially this weekend as we go play Tuskegee.
"The guys are real confident. All week they have been very upbeat. We've got six games left and we've got to finish it off."
