            The Lady Dragons swept both games of a non-conference double-header against the Lady Tornados from Talladega College to start the season 4-0. Head Softball Coach Roger Ogden picked up his career win #100 with the first game victory.

Breaking it down:
            Game 1: Kyla Riley got the Lady Dragons on the board in the top of the 1^st with a solo home run down the left field line. The Lady Tornados regained the lead in the bottom of the third inning scoring two runs for a 2-1 score. The Lady Dragons added four runs in the top of the fourth inning pounding out (3) doubles. In the top of the fifth inning the Lady Dragons added 3 more runs as Freshman Jarvaneika Deloach singled to centerfield driving in two runs. Talladega added a single run in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the bottom of the sixth.

By the numbers: The Lady Dragons pounded out 14 hits in the game while only allowing four hits for Talladega College. Leading the Lady Dragons were Desiray Sturgeon 2 for 4  with 2 Rbi's, Kyla Riley 2 for 3 1 run scored, and 1 Rbi, Oesha O'Neal had a solid 2 for 2 day with 1 run scored and 2 Rbi's. Mice'lA Ross picked up the win from the circle tossing five innings allowing 4 runs, 5 K's and 1 hit. Brittany McElvain pitched two innings in relief to earn the save allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. Kathryn Gonzales took the loss for the Lady Tornados with 4.1 innings pitched, allowing 9 hits and 7 runs.

            Game 2: The Lady Dragons bats stayed hot in game two as Ericka Webster launched a 2-run dinger in the top of the first for an early 2-0 lead for the Lady Dragons. The Lady Tornados tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the inning. Adding a single run in the bottom of the second inning the Lady Tornados regained the lead 3-2. In the top of the third inning the Lady Dragons scored on a great hook slide at the plate by Desiray Sturgeon for a 3-3 score after three innings. Breanna Glass parked a solo home run in the top of the fourth to get the scoring started as the Lady Dragons added 3 runs for a 6-3 lead. In the bottom of the inning the Lady Tornados tied the score once again scoring three runs for a 6-6 tie. They added a single run in the fifth inning to regain the lead 7-6. The Lady Dragons added three additional runs in the top of the sixth inning while allowing a single run in the bottom of the inning for the final 9-8 score.

            By the numbers: Leading the Lady Dragons in the fourteen hit attack were Desiray Sturgeon 2 for 4, 2 runs, 2Rbi's…., Kyla Riley 3 for 3, 1 run scored, 1 Rbi,…. Alonna Moore 3 for 4, 1 run,….Breanna Glass 3 for 4, 2 runs, 1 Rbi,….and Shoundedra Mack, 2 for 4, 1 run scored and 2 Rbi's. Mice'la Ross got the win tossing 3.1 innings in relief allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 K. Bryanna Welch took the loss in relief allowing 10 hits and 5 runs.
