Lady Dragons drop heartbreaker at home

JACKSON, Tenn. (November 27, 2017) - Even in a loss, and this one was an especially difficult one, there are positives that can be taken away.

The Lady Dragons dropped a heartbreaker to visiting Benedict College, 64-61, Monday evening at JF Lane Gymnasium.

But there was plenty of positives to take away from this one.

The new full court style press defense forced 22 turnovers, mainly thanks to 11 Lady Dragon steals.

The unselfish give-go offense saw eight players score in the game.

Junior guard Antrice McCoy had another break-out game, finishing with a team-high 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. She also pulled in three rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Kristy Armwood also had a hot hand in the contest, dropping in 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting.

The Lady Dragons head out on the road for four straight games, starting with a conference match-up with Central State University this Thursday in Wilberforce, Ohio. 

Lane College returns home on Dec. 14 when they step out of conference play to host Arkansas Tech University at JF Lane Gymnasium. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.Â
