Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. (November 25, 2017) - The Lane College men's basketball team won the battle of the boards and out-shot their opponent but a couple of turnovers and missed free throws late proved to be costly as Claflin University knocked off the Dragons 63-57 Saturday afternoon at JF Lane Gymnasium.
Kendarius Ash picked up his second straight double-double, leading the Dragons in scoring (12) and rebounding (16).
Although the game was close throughout, the Panthers made 13 more attempts at the free throw line than the home team.
James Caldwell finished with nine points, shooting 50 percent from the field.
Tevyn Roberts dropped in eight points for the Dragons.
Lane College remains at home in conference play when they host Benedict College this Monday. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., directly after the finish of the women's matchup between these two teams.
