Box Score Golden Tigers Stops the Dragons

The Dragons took their 3-0 record on the road to Tuskegee, AL to face the 3-0 Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University. The Dragons fell behind early in the contest and never was able to make up any ground in the 38-7 defeat.

st Quarter:
Dragons had two possessions in the first quarter and both ended up with a quick three-and- out. They were able to generate only (25 yards rushing, and 17 passing) in the two series.
Rodney Willingham collected 16 yards rushing as the offense ran 10 plays for a total of 42 yards. The Golden Tigers scored their first touchdown at the 11:51 mark as they marched 75 yards on six plays. Kevin Lacy connected with Desmond Reese for 29 yards to finish off the drive. The extra point was good for an early 7-0 lead. The second touchdown came at the 5:20 mark as Lacey carried it in from 10 yards out. The extra point was good giving the Golden Tigers a 14-0 lead after one quarter of play.

nd Quarter:
The Dragons got on the scoreboard at the 9:23 mark of the second quarter to cut the lead 14-7.
Marcus Reynolds connected with
Ahmad Isaac for 29 yards and the touchdown.
Tuskegee responded with an 8 play 94 yard scoring drive with 5:39 left in the second quarter. Lacy connected with Ladarell Pettway on 54 yards for the score. Extra point was good for a 21-7 Golden Tiger lead.
Tuskegee added to the lead with 18 seconds left in the first half with a 20-yard field goal for a 24-7 lead.

rd Quarter:
The Golden Tigers scored with 41 seconds left in the third quarter to extend their lead 31-7. Eight plays 48 yards with a one yard plunge on 3
rd down from Jerome Lewis for the touchdown.

th Quarter:
The Dragons'
Ray Taylor collected his 2
nd fumble recovery of the game at 11:53 to set the Dragons up at the Golden Tigers 24 yard-line. The Dragons could not punch the ball into the end zone as the drive stalled out at 10:29 left to play.
The Golden Tigers scored the final touchdown on a 64-yard punt return by Pettway for the touchdown with 4:15 left to play in the game. The extra point was good for a 38-7 final score.

Marcus Holliday collected 46 yards rushing on 10 carries to add to his conference leading totals.
Justin Hill lead the Dragons defense with nine tackles and
Ray Taylor collected two fumble recoveries in the game.
The Dragons travel to Jefferson City, MO for a non-conference contest with the Blue Tigers of Lincoln University
on October 1. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
