Dragons Release 2016 Football Schedule

Jackson, TN (April 26, 2016) – Lane College Athletics Director and Head Football Coach Derrick Burroughs has announced the Dragons 2016 football schedule. The Dragons 10-game schedule includes five home games which include the 1st Annual "CME Classic" on opening weekend and five away games.

The Dragons open the 2016 season with back-to-back home games to start the season in Jackson, TN. On September 3, the Dragons will host the 1stAnnual "CME Classic" against the Steer's from Texas College. Kick-Off is scheduled for 2 PM. Week 2 has the Wildcats from Fort Valley State University coming to the friendly confines of Lane Field on September 10, with a scheduled 2 PM kick-off. Weeks 3-5 will have the Dragons playing on the road with a September 17 contest against the Lions of Langston University. This game is currently scheduled to be played in Langston, Oklahoma. The next stop for the Dragons will be Tuskegee, Alabama as the Dragons open up conference play against the Golden Tigers on September 24. The contest is scheduled for kick-off at 1 PM. Jefferson City, Missouri will conclude the three-game road trip, as the Dragons take on the Blue Tigers of Lincoln University on October 1. Game time is scheduled for 2 PM. October 8 is "Homecoming 2016" for the Dragons as they return to Lane Field to host the Tigers from Benedict College. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 PM. Wilberforce, Ohio will have the Dragons traveling for the next contest as the Marauders from Central State University will host the Dragons on October 15 with a scheduled 1:30 PM kick-off. The Miles College Golden Bears will be in Jackson, TN on October 22 to take on the Dragons for the next- to-last home game of the season. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 PM. The Dragons close out the October portion of the schedule with a road trip to Frankfort, Kentucky to face the Thoroughbreds from Kentucky State University on October 29. The scheduled kick-off from Frankfort is 1:30 PM. The Dragons close out the regular season on November 5 as they host the Maroon Tigers from Morehouse College. The scheduled kick-off is 2 PM at Lane Field.
