            The Lady Dragons traveled to Columbia, SC to face the Lady Tigers of Benedict College on Monday night.  After opening the conference portion of their schedule on Saturday with a loss to the Lady Panthers from Claflin University, they rebounded with a (69-66) victory over the Lady Tigers of Benedict College.

            Breaking it Down: The Lady Dragons outscored the Lady Tigers in the first two quarters. In the first half the Lady Dragons connected on 7 of 13 (53.8%) three pointers to take a 38-28 lead into halftime. In the third quarter the Lady Dragons added to their lead for a 54-39 score at the end of the quarter. In the final quarter the Lady Tigers mounted a comeback effort with a run of 27-12 to tie the game 66-66 with five seconds left in regulation. Tashara Jones connected with a long range three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Lady Dragons the 69-66 victory.

            By the Numbers: The Lady Dragons scored 36 points on three pointers connecting on 12 of 20 (60%). The lady Dragons collected 21 points off the bench with Brittany McWaine leading the way with eight points. Using the inside game the Lady Dragons added 18 points inside the paint. On the night the Lady Dragons connected on 7 of 12 (58.3%) from the free-throw line. Leading the Lady Dragons were Addie McNeely with 16 points and seven rebounds. LaTrice Ragland added 15 points connecting on 5 of 7 three pointers, while Tashara Jones added 12 points and five rebounds. Leading the Lady Tigers were Mikeisha Moore with 22 points, Zairra Harris with 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Destiny Betts with 14 rebounds.

            Back in Action: The Lady Dragons continue on the road with another conference game on Wednesday against the Lady Lions (4-3, 2-1 conference) of Paine College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM from Augusta, GA.
