Box Score The Lane College Dragons had one goal in mind when they left Jackson, Tenn. on March 3, 2015. That goal is now one step away from being completed. That goal was to shock everyone by winning the 2014-15 SIAC Basketball Championship. The Dragons were picked to finish last in the Western Division in the pre-season poll. The Dragons finished the regular season 14-11 good enough for a #2 seed in the Western Division.

Game 1: Lane College 80 Fort Valley State University 70
The Dragons relied on shooting the long range 3-pointers and cashing in on free-throw opportunities. The Dragons connected on 5-of-10 (50%) from the three-point area and drained 19-of-27 (70.4%) from the free-throw line to cruise to victory. Four Dragon players collected double-digit points led by All-Conference Selection
Terrance Bridgeman 23 points; All-Conference Selection
Donald Stewart 21 points; Senior
Bryant Hill, 10 points, and
Tevyn Roberts with 10 points .
Game 2: Lane College 62 Claflin University 59
Trailing at half-time 27-26, the Dragons used a big finish in the second half to defeat the Panthers from Claflin University. With the victory, the Dragons advanced to play in the Semi-Finals against the #1 seed Paine College Lions. For the second night in a row, the Dragons were steady from the free-throw line and connected on 19-of-27 (70.4%). Leading the Dragons to victory were
Donald Stewart 30 points,
Terrance Bridgeman 14 points, and
Joseph Cooper hauling in 11 rebounds.
Game 3: #2 (W) Lane College 79 #1 (E) Paine Lions 70
The Dragons came out with an impressive start to the game and stayed in control of the action throughout the first half. The Dragons carried a 32-25 lead into half-time and finished with a 47-45 second half to seal the victory. With this victory, the Dragons punched their ticket to play on Championship Sunday. The Dragons will face the #4 seed Benedict Tigers for the 2014-15 Champions of the SIAC. The Dragons hit all but six shots from the free-throw line, connecting on 26-of-32 attempts(81.3%). Joseph Cooper with 13 points.
The Dragons have not played for the SIAC Championship since 2009 when they faced LeMoyne Owen College and finished as tournament runners-up. The journey through the tourney will be completed tomorrow in Birmingham, AL at the Bill Harris Arena at the Crossplex. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
