The Dragons scored first in the contest, but did not score often. With 9:06 on the first quarter clock, Carlas Moore, Jr. connected on a 30-yard field goal for the Dragons early lead. Shortly afterwards, the Tigers responded with a 24 yard pass and catch for a Tiger touchdown. The extra point was missed, giving the Tigers a 6-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Dragons stopped a would-be touchdown in the second quarter with an impressive goal line stand, as they stopped the Tigers not once, but twice from the one-yard line. This defensive stand could have been a game changer, but the offensive unit could not move the ball, which resulted in a safety for the Tigers and a 8-3 lead. On the next procession, the Tigers quarterback, Brett Standifer, connected on a second touchdown pass to his Tight End Devon Mackey; this time from 24 yards and a 15-3 halftime lead.

The Dragons scored a touchdown with 3:04 left in the third quarter to close the gap to 15-10. Clarence Marshall found the end zone with a 2 yard run for the Dragons. Carlas Moore added the extra point as the Dragons trailed by five points.

The fourth quarter was all Tigers, as Standifer called his own number for a 2 yard touchdown run shortly after the fourth quarter began. The Dragons' only score in the fourth quarter came with 7:20 left in regulation. Marcus Reynolds connected with Jna Crawford for a 23 yard touchdown and a 22-17 Tiger lead.  With 4:15 left to play, the Tigers scored the final touchdown of the game as Standifer connected with Eric Childs for 20 yards and a final score of 29-17.

The Dragons were led by Gerald Gaines with 95 yards rushing on ten carries. Marcus Reynolds collected 68 yards rushing and 105 yards passing. Roderick McKee caught 5 passes for 40 yards. Ray Taylor led the defensive unit collecting six tackles.

The Dragons (1-4 overall, 0-3 conference) travel to Augusta, Ga. to face the Benedict Tigers (0-5 overall, 0-1 conference) on Saturday Oct. 10. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 PM.
