Box Score Lady Dragons Split Series with Miles College

The Lady Dragons softball team picked up two big conference victories over the weekend against Miles College. The Lady Dragons (18-12 overall) finished the conference schedule with a 14-12 record which will place them in the top four from the Western Division. This will qualify the Lady Dragons to compete in the SIAC Championship tournament scheduled for April 23-27 in Hampton, GA.
Game 1: Lane College (5) Vs Miles College (3)The Lady Dragons started the weekend series scoring five runs on 8 hits against the Lady Golden Bears from Miles College.
Jasmine McNeal led the hitting for the Lady Dragons with her eighth and ninth homeruns of the season.
Diamond Moore also collected two hits in three at-bats in the game, and collected 2 runs batted in.
Shawnae Campbell pitched all seven innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out seven batters.
Game 2: Miles College (8) Vs Lane College (2)The Lady Dragons could not seem to get on track in the second game of the day. The defensive unit committed five errors in the first few innings to stake the Lady Bears to a comfortable 7-0 lead. The Lady Dragons managed to score two runs in the fifth inning, but could not add any more runs for a final 8-2 loss.
Janzze Gonzales and
Leiana Moragne each collected one hit for the Lady Dragons.
Game 3: Lane College (9) Vs Miles College (0)The Lady Dragons started off day two of the series pounding out 10 hits against the Lady Bears.
Jasmine McNeal put the Lady Dragons on the scoreboard in the first inning with her "team record" 10
th homerun deep into the woods behind the left field fence.
Diamond Moore took honors in the third inning by launching a grand-slam homerun down the left field line for a 6-0 lead for the Lady Dragons. Moore came through again in the sixth inning with a walk-off 2-RBI single for a Lady Dragons victory. Sequoia Dean and
Shawnae Campbell also collected two hits each for the Lady Dragons. Campbell pitched all six innings, allowing no-runs on five hits, while striking out seven batters.
Game 4: Miles College (8) Vs Lane College (0)For the second day in a row the Lady Dragons could not match the outcome of the first game each day. The Lady bears bounced back to defeat the Lady Dragons in the second game both days. Sequoia Dean collected the only hit in the game for the Lady Dragons in the defeat.
