J.F. Lane Gymnasium was the setting for the SIAC Basketball contest between the Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State University and the Lady Dragons of Lane College. The hard fought contest did not go the Lady Dragons' way as they fell 82-67. The Lady Dragons offense struggled in the first half, connecting on 5of 26 from the field. The Lady Wildcats connected on 12 of 17 free throws to take a 38-16 half time lead.

The second half action showed more pressure by the Lady Dragons defensive unit, and they were able to capitalize on the offensive end of the court. The Lady Dragons connected on 15 of 32 (47%) shots in the second half. They outscored the Lady Wildcats 51-44 in the second half to fall a little short of the victory. Brittnee Hazel led the Lady Wildcats with 13 points followed by Shytina Harley with 10 points. The Lady Dragons were led in scoring by Sharon Morgan with 22 points, while Crystal Rayford added 12 points and 16 rebounds.

The second SIAC conference contest of the week featured the Lady Dragons hosting the Lady Panthers from Clark-Atlanta University. The Lady Panthers built a twelve point lead as Erika Sumpter connected on five of nine shots to lead the scoring for the Lady Panthers in the first half. Lady Dragon Tiffany Martin connected with twelve seconds left to cut the half time lead to ten with a 33-23 score.

In the second half, the Lady Dragons connected on 15 of 37 shots (41%) but could not overcome the difference in points left from the first half. The Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Dragons 38-34 in the second half for a 71-57 victory. Sumpter continued to have the hot hand for the Lady Panthers as she added 12 points in the second half. Jordan Cain led the Lady Dragons in scoring coming off the bench to score 16 points, while grabbing 14 rebounds. Crystal Rayford added her second double-double of the week with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

The Lady Dragons travel to Orangeburg, SC to take on the Lady Panthers from Claflin University on January 6, before returning home to host The Lady Tigers from Benedict College on January 9. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
