Dragons Win a Close One against Bulldogs

In one of the most exciting games of the year for the Dragons to date, the 84-80 victory over the Fisk University Bulldogs had everything you might want in a game. The game featured fast breaks, awesome dunks, long-range 3-pointers, and tie scores.

The Bulldogs were first to get on the scoreboard after a couple of missed shots by the Dragons. Georgio Alexander collected a defensive rebound for the Dragons, drove the length of the court for the first points for the Dragons with 18:14 on the clock. The Dragons outscored the Bulldogs 35-20 in the next 14 minutes for a 37-22 score with 4 minutes left to play in the first half. The fast pace of the game continued for the remainder of the half and the Dragons took a 46-35 lead to halftime.

The second half was a little slower pace to start with, but the excitement continued as the Bulldogs closed the gap. At the 8:55 mark, Cameron Lewis connected for the Bulldogs to tie the game at 64. A back-and-forth battle continued for the next two minutes for another tie game at 70 with six minutes left in regulation. The Dragons held on, outscoring the Bulldogs 14-10 from that point to seal the victory.

Cameron Lewis led the scoring for the Bulldogs with 25 points. For the Dragons, Sha'Mar Nolen led the scoring attack with 21 points, while Bryant Hill added 17, Kelsey Eubanks had 14, and Jason Price ended up with 10 points.

The Dragons travel to Memphis on January 25 for another conference battle with Lemoyne-Owen College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM on the LeMoyne-Owen campus.
