Box Score Dragons Pick Up a Conference Victory over the Magicians
(Jan. 26, 2013---Memphis, Tenn.)–The Lane College Dragons picked up a conference win with a 71-68 victory over the LeMoyne- Owen Magicians Saturday afternoon in Memphis, TN.

After trailing 37-24 with 1:41 left in the first half, Lane outscored LeMoyne-Owen the remainder of the half to cut the lead to 39-30 at the break. The second half was much the same as the Magicians maintained a comfortable lead for most of the second half. Down by 7 (60-53) with 2:05 remaining in the contest, Dragons' Shoquan Stevens picked up a steal and a breakaway layup to give the Dragons a 1- point advantage…64-63. The Dragons would not look back after gaining the lead and finished off the victory 71-68.

Sha'Mar Nolen led the Dragons' scoring attack connecting with 7-of-12 from the field, and 7-of-8 from the free throw line for a total of 21 points. Shoquan Stevens added 20 points for the Dragons, connecting on 9-of-13 from the field. Anthony Bell led the Dragons' rebounding effort hauling in 10 boards in the contest. The Magicians were led in scoring by Brandon Hopson with 17 points.

The Dragons are back in action on Monday, January 28, as they host the Golden Bears from Miles College. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Oman Arena.
