Lady Dragons Defeat Lady Golden Bears
            The Lady Dragons traveled to Knox Windham Gymnasium for the second time in less than a week. This time the Lady Dragons brought home the victory by downing the Lady Golden Bears 71-64. Senior guard Brittany Peters led the Lady Dragons in scoring with 15 points, while Shardai Duksworth, and Cellonda Crawford added 10 points each.  Peters collected 12 of her 15 points in the first half as the Lady Dragons took a commanding lead 41-22 into half-time. The Lady Dragons were 18 of 40 (45%) from the field, and 4 of 6 (66.7%) from the free throw line in the first half. With 13:50 on the clock, Angel Hornsburger connected with a jumper to give the Lady Dragons a 12-point lead 19-7. From there; Marissa Stewart, Katora Fleming, Sharon Morgan, and Tiahana Freeman all connected on shots to extend the Lady Dragons lead to 19 points with 3:43 left in the first half. Brittany Peters drove the lane for a lay-up giving the Lady Dragons the largest lead of the night (22 points) 39-17.
            In the second half the Lady Dragons connected on 10 of 17 (58.8%) free throws to help secure the victory. The Lady Bears outscored the Lady Dragons in the second half 42-30, but could not overcome the difference that was built in the first half. The Lady Dragons rode the hot hand of Shardai Duksworth in the second half for their second straight victory with a 71-64 final score over the Lady Golden Bears
The road trip continues for the Lady Dragons as they travel to Tuskegee, AL for their next action.
