Lady Dragons Defeat Lady Magicians
            The Lady Dragons traveled to Bruce Hall Gymnasium in Memphis, TN to take on the LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians. The Lady Dragons claimed their first victory of the season by defeating the Lady Magicians 72-61. The Lady Dragons jumped out to a 7-point lead (10-3) with less than two minutes coming off the game clock, before the Lady Magicians could adjust. The momentum changed and the Lady Magicians came charging back to take an 11-point lead 31-20 with 5:50 left in the first half. The Lady Dragons' defense stepped up to force eight missed shots, two turnovers, and collected five fouls, which allowed the Lady Dragons to regain the momentum and carry a 32-31 lead into halftime.    
            The early part of the second half was a back-and-forth battle for the lead, as both teams took turns building a small lead only to be erased by the other. The game was tied for the fourth time 56-56 with 7:35 left in regulation. With 4:58 left in the game, the Lady Dragons connected on three consecutive trips up the court with 3-pointers by Marissa Stewart (2) and Brittany Peters to put the Lady Dragons out front to stay. For the night Marissa Stewart connected on 4 of 10 from the three-point area to lead the Lady Dragons in scoring with 18 points. Brittany Peters added 13, and Terryn Offiong contributed 10 points for the victory. The Lady Dragons travel to Birmingham, AL for their next basketball action, taking on the Lady Golden Bears from Miles College.
