Dragons Defeat Maroon Tigers
            The Dragons traveled to Forbes Arena in Atlanta, GA to take on the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers. The Dragons claimed their first victory of the season by defeating the Maroon Tigers 61-55. The Dragons have played five games this season with the final score being decided by 7 points or less. This time the outcome had a positive ending for the Dragons. The Tigers started off the contest hitting four free throws and acquiring a 4-0 lead with only seconds off of the game clock. With 7:43 left in the first half, Nick Jones drained a fade away jumper to put the Dragons in the lead once again, as both teams had tied the game 4 times in the first half. The Dragons went to the locker room at halftime with a 29-25 lead. 
            The Dragons relied on their free throw shooting in the second half to help finalize the victory. Connecting on 11 of 13 (17-22 overall for 77.3%) free-throws in the second half allowed the Dragons to outscore the Tigers 35-32 in the second half, sealing the 6-point victory for the Dragons. Ashton Patton, (JR Topeka, KS) led the Dragons with 19 points, while Nick Jones (SR Nashville, TN) finished with 11 points for the Dragons. The Dragons return to Oman Arena for another SIAC contest with The Golden Rams from Albany State University on January 17. The Dragons lost by 3 points when they played the Golden Rams in Albany, GA earlier in the season.
