Lady Dragons Fall Short
            The Lady Tigers from Benedict College outpaced the Lady Dragons to take a 61-56 victory. The Lady Tigers were led by Chelsea Passante with 14 points on the evening, while Ashlee Jones added 12 points. The lead for the Lady Tigers with 8:25 left in the first half had been extended to 19 points (24-5), before the Lady Dragons could get things started. During the remainder of the first half, the Lady Dragons outscored the Lady Tigers to close the gap to 14 points (33-19) going to halftime.
            The Lady Dragons would get their second wind coming out from halftime and cutting the lead to 10 points within the first two minutes. With 1:34 left on the clock, Shardai Duksworth connected on a lay-up to cut the lead to 4 points (58-54). That would be as close as the Lady Dragons would get as the Lady Tigers were able to hit the foul shots at the end to hold on to the victory. The Lady Dragons were led in scoring by Crystal Rayford with 15 points and 5 rebounds, while Brittany Peters added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Angel Hornsburger led the Lady Dragons defense by collecting 10 rebounds…all on the defensive end of the court. The Lady Dragons host Paine College on January 9 with a 5:30 p.m. scheduled tip-off at Oman Arena.
