Lady Dragons Fall To Lady Lions
The Lady Dragons returned to the friendly confines of Oman Arena looking for their first victory of the season. After getting off to a bad start in the previous game, the Lady Dragons came ready to play against the Lady Lions from Paine College. During the first fourteen minutes of the game, each team battled to keep the game close as the Lady Lions held a 29-25 lead. The next four minutes were not what the Lady Dragons needed as several fouls and turnovers helped the Lady Lions extend the lead to 14 points (48-34) with 1:55 left in the first half. The Lady Dragons held tight and was able to cut into the lead before the half ended 49-41.
The second half started with the Lady Dragons putting pressure on the Lady Lions offense, causing turnovers and creating opportunities for the Lady Dragons. With 15:47 on the clock,
Sharon Morgan hit a free throw to cut the Lady Lions lead to 2 points 55-53. The battle would then intensify all the way to the end of the second half. With 44 seconds left in the game,
Crystal Rayford connected on a lay-up to give the Lady Dragons a 1-point lead 77-76. The Lady Lions were able to force turnovers which led to a lay-up that put the Lady Lions ahead for good for the 80-77 victory. Jalissa Mosby scoring 10. The Lady Dragons travel to Atlanta, GA to take on the Lady Panthers from Clark Atlanta University on January 12.
