Dragons stumble in Kentucky

by Joel Worthington

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Lane College football team dropped a division game against Kentucky State on Saturday.

The Thorobred rushing attack was more than the Lane defense could handle as they racked up 472 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns.

The Lane offense had success moving the ball at times but sputtered late in drives due to penalties or negative plays.

The visitors found the most success through the air, amassing 275 yards from three different passers.

Michael Huntley led the way going 14-of-24 for 171 yards and a touchdown.

Virgil Young led all receivers with seven catches for 111 yards and a 32-yard touchdown reception.

Jeremiah Brown racked up nine total tackles from the safety position, while Andrew Farmer finished with eight tackles.

The Dragons will be back at home for Senior Day next Saturday, October 16th, when they host the Golden Bears of Miles College. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM at Lane Field.
