Lady Dragons Struggle on the Road

WILBERFORCE, Ohio (January 28, 2019) - After picking up a decisive victory in the first game of the five-game road trip, the Lady Dragons fell to .500 after struggling shooting from all aspects of the game, dropping Game 2 of the road swing, 77-45, Monday evening at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio.

Lane College trailed by only five after the first quarter after leading early by three, as the Lady Marauders finished the first 10 minutes on an 8-0 run. But the Lady Dragons went cold in the second quarter, being outscored 18-6 to take a 32-15 deficit into the break. Out of the locker room, Lane started with an 8-0 run on their own to cut the lead bact to single digits but, after a CSU timeout, the Lady Marauders responded to even the third quarter and extend the lead back to the original halftime deficit at 17. Then, Central State put on the pressure, forcing turnovers that lead to easy transition baskets on the other end.

Senior guard Addie McNeely led all Lady Dragons with 17 points while forward Porche Hannah finished with a double double, dropping in 14 points while pulling in 10 rebounds. Alexis Harris finished with a team-leading five assists in the game.

Lane College takes a few days off before they head south to a warmer climate when they take on Spring Hill College on Thursday evening. Tip off from Moblie, Ala. is set for 5:30 CST.Â
