Dragons Comeback falls Short against Marauders

WILBERFORCE, Ohio (January 28, 2019) - After an extremely low scoring first half, the Dragons took a slim lead into the locker room, 19-16, Monday night against SIAC foe Central State University.

But just 90 seconds into the final 20 minutes, the Marauders took their first and final lead of the second half, leading by as many as 11 points, nearly midway through the second half. But, just as they have done all season long, this Dragon squad did not falter, slowly chipping away at that lead to cut the deficit to single digits with just over five minutes left in the contest. Central State would pull back away but Lane would continue to fight, eventually cutting the lead to four points with seconds to remain. But ultimately, the comeback fell short as the Dragons fell to the Marauders, 69-63, to drop to 1-1 in this five-game road swing.

Terrace Holt led all scorers with 24 points while Kendarius Ash finished with another double-double dropping in 13 points while snagging 15 rebounds and four steals. Red-shirt sophomore guard De'Marik Brown saw the most action of his young career, scoring eight points, going 2-for-2 from beyond the arc with an assist and a steal in just 10 minutes of play.

The Dragons look to improve to 2-1 when they head to Mobile to take on Spring Hill College on Thursday. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CST.Â
