Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Josh Lemons

Men's and Women's basketball Sweep Over the Week

JACKSON, Tenn. (December 1, 2018) - Whether you're a Dragon or a Lady Dragon, it was a good week to be a Lane College basketball player, coach or fan. Both the men and women picked up two conference wins in the past week, knocking off Central State University and Kentucky State University at J.F. Lane Gymnasium on Thursday and Saturday, respectfully.

Dragons 77, Marauders 76

Central State hit a three pointer as time expired to make the win look closer than it actually was as the Dragons led for the majority of the ball game to pick up their third straight win in SIAC play. Senior guard Terrace Holt led all Dragons with 25 points including a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Point guard Daniel Hill finished with 12 points and Lew Johnson dropped in 10 points and picked up nine rebounds.

Lady Dragons 64, Lady Marauders 45

The Lane College women's basketball team picked up their most lopsided win of the season, downing Central State by 19 points Thursday evening. Sophomore forward Porchia Hannah led all scorers with 14 points and a season-high 20 rebounds. She added three blocks in the victory. Addie McNeely and newcomer Breaunna Burks both finished in double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectfully.

Dragons 82, Thorobreds 76

In a game that was as back-and-forth as you will see, Lane College made nine of its last 10 free throws to pull away late and pick up their fourth straight win. Lucious Brown finished with a team-high 23 points in just 24 minutes. Brown also added four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Ai'Shontis Sanders had 12 points, Brandon Dansoh had 11 and LaJustin Anderson added 10 points in the win.

Lady Dragons 69, Lady Thorobreds 53

For the second time in three games, McNeely finished with 20 points or more, while Hannah pulled in 20 rebounds for the second straight game as Lane College had no problem with Kentucky State on Saturday. Hannah also added 15 points while SIAC Newcomer of the Week Alexis Harris dropped in 14 and Burks added 11 points in the win.
