Kalvin Pearson

Kalvin Pearson was born 1978, and raised in the Town Creek, AL community. He attended Hazlewood High School where he lettered 4 years in football, basketball, and track. During his senior year, Pearson received All-State and All-Area Honors in football. He was also selected to play in the North South Allstar football game. He was recruited by Super Bowl Champion and MVP Douglas Williams to a full scholarship to Morehouse College. At Morehouse, he started as a True Freshmen and received numerous awards as a True Freshman. The next year he transferred to Grambling State University searching for a better opportunity to pursue a college football career. 

 At Grambling State University, he lettered 3 years and was a part of two Black College National Championships and two SWAC Championship titles. He also received the Eddie Robinson Award for two straight seasons. In April of 2002, Mr. Pearson was chosen by the Cleveland Browns as an Undrafted Free Agent. During his 8 years in the NFL, he also played for the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Detroit Lions. During his 4 seasons with the Buccaneers he won, 2 NFC South Titles and 8 Special Team Player of the game awards and 2 Special Team tackle Championships. For the Detroit Lions in 2008 he won the Defensive MVP and the Mike Utley Spirt Award. Pearson also played two seasons in NFL (Europe) for the Cologne Centurions and the Frankfurt Galaxy, where the team won the World Bowl Championship. Kalvin Pearson retired in 2010 from the NFL and from there went back to his alma mater, Grambling State University, to finish his degree in Accounting. After getting his degree in 2011, he took a position on the coaching staff at Grambling State University for three seasons. The team won a SWAC Championship during his tenure. 

 After his tenure at Grambling, Pearson in 2014 accepted an intern position with the Dallas Cowboys as a Special Teams assistant for a year. During the intern, the Dallas Cowboys were the NFC East Division Champions. Wanting to be closer to home, Pearson took a coaching job at Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama as the Secondary Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, and Strength Coach. In 2016, he left coaching all together and started his own company-Pearson’s Renovation & Construction. Pearson’s Renovation & Construction has grown to consist of buying homes, renovating homes, and renting to lower income families. Having a passion for football he returned to Parker High school as the Corners Coach and assisted with on the field duties. Kalvin Pearson was married in 2021 to Sakinah and they have 3 Beautiful daughters, Kayla, Sakiyah, and Kalli.Â
