B George

Brandon George

Brandon George is in his first year coaching the defensive line at Lane College. The eldest of four children, born November 4, 1985 in Bossier, Louisiana where he attended school within the Bossier Parish District until graduation in June of 2005. While attending Bossier High School, George was a member of the school’s football team. While a part of the football team, George was an All-City and All Parish football star both junior and senior year. In 2005, George was awarded a full ride football scholarship to attend Grambling State University, where he participated in both football as well as track and field. He won in Track and Field in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in 2007, and in 2008 he scored another Southwestern Athletic Conference win for football. In 2010 not only did George graduate from Grambling State University earning a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology; Concentration in Sports Management with a Minor in Marketing. He also is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

In 2013, George found his passion for coaching while employed as Defensive Coordinator at Huntington High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. During his employment with Huntington School district, he developed many key successful skills which included facilitating efficient training, managing and accelerating change while strengthening team competencies. George served as Defensive Coordinator until 2015.

After serving on the high school level, George was the Strength and Conditioning coach at his alma mater, Grambling State University.  After only two semesters serving the team, he began at McMurry University in the American Southwest Conference as the defensive lineman coach for two years. From there, he went on to be the defensive line coach at Montana State University-Northern. He then returned home to take a job at the Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy, a 3-A high school in Louisiana.  While here, He served as the Run Coordinator and Strength Coach and the Head Track and Field Coach. For the first time since 2002, the program made a LHSAA state playoff appearance.

He said The Bill Walsh Fellowship Program being a finalist for Washington Redskins has catapulted interest to become a head football coach and defensive coordinator as well. George and Wife, Jessica have two son’s Kaihsyn, Brandon II. Â
