Playing before an energetic Homecoming crowd, the Dragons produced two touchdowns, forced a pair of turnovers and remained within striking distance throughout much of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup.
Tuskegee opened the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown run by Ja'Khael Rowser midway through the first quarter. The Golden Tigers added a 38-yard field goal later in the period to take a 10-0 lead into the second quarter.
Lane's defense continued to battle as Tuskegee extended its advantage with a 16-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter. The Dragons answered less than two minutes later with their biggest offensive play of the afternoon.
Quarterback Tametrius Pogue connected with DeMahri Wallace for a 79-yard touchdown with 3:15 remaining before halftime. The explosive play completed a six-play, 75-yard drive and sent Lane into the locker room trailing 17-6.
Neither team scored during a defensive third quarter. Lane's defense created one of its biggest moments when Frederick Lewis Jr. intercepted a Tuskegee pass and returned it eight yards. The Dragons also stopped the Golden Tigers on a fourth-down attempt during the contest.
Tuskegee opened the fourth quarter with a 35-yard field goal and later added a 24-yard touchdown run to extend its lead to 27-6.
The Dragons continued competing until the final minutes. Lane drove 46 yards in five plays before Makhi Watson scored on a 10-yard run with 2:22 remaining. Demond Davis Jr. completed the two-point conversion pass to cut the final margin to 27-14.
Pogue finished the game completing 17 of 33 passes for 175 yards and one touchdown. Wallace led Lane's receiving corps with six catches for 104 yards, including the 79-yard touchdown. Landon Wilson added three receptions for 35 yards, while Rkisch Hyppolyte recorded three catches for 21 yards.
Watson led the Dragons on the ground, rushing five times for 30 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Lewis finished with six solo tackles and an interception. Vernell Foster II and Joshua Williams each recorded five tackles, while Williams added 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack. Treylon Matthews also registered a sack, and Charles Ingram V contributed four tackles and a pass breakup.
Lane finished with 213 yards of total offense, including 175 passing yards. The Dragons recorded 15 first downs and converted their only red-zone opportunity. Lane's defense collected two sacks, seven tackles for loss and one interception while holding Tuskegee scoreless throughout the third quarter.
The contest brought Lane's 2026 campaign to a close with a 1-9 overall record and a 1-7 mark in conference play. The Dragons earned their victory one week earlier with a 16-6 road win over Fort Valley State, the program's first win since November 2024.
Saturday's game served as the centerpiece of Lane College's 2026 Homecoming celebration, welcoming alumni, students, families and supporters back to campus while recognizing the institution's proud history and athletic tradition.
