Baseball takes series over Clark Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. - Lane College claimed two victories over Clark Atlanta this weekend at Home Plate Field.

Game 1 Lane College 12, Clark Atlanta 9

Lane College rallied late in the game to overcome a strong start from Clark Atlanta, winning 12-9 in a thrilling contest. Clark Atlanta got off to an early lead with a pair of runs in the first inning, aided by a two-RBI single. They built on that with more scoring in the 2nd and 3rd innings, including a two-run triple.

However, Lane responded in the 4th, scoring three runs to close the gap. A pivotal 7th inning, with key home runs from Saul Gonzalez (3-run) and Casey Lockwood (solo shot), gave Lane the momentum they needed. Gonzalez had a monster day, hitting 4-for-5 with 5 RBIs. By the 9th inning, Lane College was firmly in control, sealing the victory with a two-run home run from Michael O'Neill.

Game 2 Clark Atlanta 8, Lane College 6

Clark Atlanta bounced back in the second game of the series with an 8-6 victory. Lane College jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first, with Gonzalez and Eli Garcia driving in runs. But Clark Atlanta quickly fought back, scoring two runs in the 4th to make it 5-2. They surged ahead in the 6th with four runs, including a two-run single and a sacrifice fly.

Lane College did try to rally in the 7th, with Lockwood driving in a run, but Clark Atlanta held strong. Dylan Scott earned the win for Clark Atlanta, pitching 7 innings, allowing 6 runs while striking out 7.

Game 3 Lane College 15, Clark Atlanta 2

Lane College dominated in the final game of the series, winning 15-2. The game was decided early as Lane put up 10 runs through the first four innings. Gonzalez was the star of the game with two home runs, including a 3-run blast in the 2nd and a 2-run shot in the 4th. Gabriel Garza also contributed with a homer of his own, Trey and Babbitt had a solid 3-for-3 performance with 2 RBIs.

Savian Loor earned the win for Lane College, pitching a dominant 7 innings, giving up just 2 runs on 5 hits, and striking out 8.
