Carey leads Lane to victory over Kentucky State

JACKSON, Tenn. - Breonna Carey scored 25 points as Lane defeated Kentucky State to pull within one game of second place in the SIAC West. It was the Dragons fourth win in a row.

Lane continued their trend of dominating the paint this season, outscoring the Thorobreds 52-38 under the basket.

The defense was once again stifling, forcing 32 turnovers from the visitors.

Carey was efficient from the field, going 9-of-17 and 7-for-10 from the free throw line.

TaShun Bryson and Dyani Bernstine added 11 points each for the Dragons. Bernstine added eight steals.

Brailyn Tate scored 12 points and had a team-high eight rebounds along with Chantoryia Rivers who also pulled down eight boards.

Lane will begin a five game road trip with a contest against Kentucky State on Saturday, February 3rd, in Frankfort, Ky.
