JACKSON, Tenn. | The Jackson-Madison County Sports Hall of Fame has announced its recipients of Male and Female Athlete of the Year Award for Lane College.
Millay Lambert was named Female Athlete of the Year while O'Joshua Bunton was selected as Male Athlete of the Year.

Florence, Ala.
Hailing from Florence, Ala., Lambert was named First Team All-Conference after finishing second in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) in hitting and eighth in the nation with a .477 average.
She had 63 hits and was second in the SIAC in on-base percentage (.541), fourth in slugging (.712), and first in triples (6). She set a new school record for runs in a season with 51.
Lambert was instrumental on a team that shattered 14 school records. Perhaps most impressively, the Dragons led the nation in batting average, hitting .416 as a team on the year.
She was the only player to start all 42 games in a season that saw the team set a new school record for wins with 26.
Lambert is on pace to graduate in May. She is studying Mass Communications and carries a 3.94 GPA
O'Joshua Bunton
Junior
Crawfordsville, Ark.
After taking the top qualifying position with a 10.57 at the SIAC Championship Meet, Bunton blew past the field in the final heat with a time of 10.43, a full tenth of a second faster than the second-place finisher.
The time qualified Bunton for the NCAA Division II National Track and Field. Bunton also placed second in the 200m dash with a time of 21.04.
At nationals, Bunton raced his way into Lane College history when he opened with a 10.36 qualifying time in the 100-meter dash which set a new school record.
The native of Crawfordsville, Arkansas then clocked a 10.45 in the final heat, finishing just one-one hundredth of a second off the mark for first place.
Bunton was then fourth overall in qualifying for the 200-meter final with a time of 20.71. He then blazed a 20.52 time in the final heat which was good for fourth place.
Making the final heat in the two races made Bunton the first ever two-time NCAA First Team All-American in school history.
The time also qualified Bunton for the Team USA summer trials.
The two will be honored at a banquet to be held on Tuesday, March 28th, at the Carl Perkins Center.
